Reasons for the Death of Rock & Roll

As noted previously rock & roll is dead. Even Rock & Roll knows this. Gene Simmons: Rock & Roll is Finally Dead.

Let's get into some of the reasons.

1-Geezers:  Not only is Gene Simmons is still alive. Paul McCartney  is still alive. Mick Jagger is still alive. Whats worse is these septuagenarians insist on performing. Retire, get the hell out of the way and give someone else a chance.*

2-Hubris: After the 1960's and Woodstock rock & roll decided it was important, had a message everyone needed to hear and could change the world. Sorry rock & roll, most people just wanna have a good time at a concert.

3-Over innovation: Rock & roll is about development. Always a new sound must be found. Well there are only so many ways to combine a four or five piece band. By the mid 1990's they found all of them.

4-Country Music: As rock became obsessed with lib-prog politics and change for the sake of change all the pop-music energy moved to Country. Actually this is not a new thing. Country music has been the most popular genre in America since the mid-1970s. Not a coincidence, see reason 2. The biggest pop star of the 90's was Garth Brooks. The biggest pop star of today is Taylor Swift. They became big country stars and then crossed over and bagged millions of rock & roll fans who too one look at dorm-room rage of Alanis Morrisette and said, 'ew'.

So what's to be done? Nothing, absolutely nothing. This is the way it is. RIP rock & roll. And KISS Army, please disband.

The face of modern rock

*Yes, so are our bands,we get it. We should note that Page, Plant, and Jones had the good taste to retire Led Zeppelin and do other things.
